I opened Garden Works and Design, LLC in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2002. We concentrate on design/build projects for both residential and commercial clients. Our project sizes range from very small gardens and courtyard designs to large country estates. As a landscape designer, my work is inspired not only by creating beautiful functional outdoor living and playing spaces but also by bringing together my appreciation of nature and horticulture and balancing them with the needs and desires of my clients. I understand that your property isn’t just your “yard” or “lawn” but rather it is an outdoor extension of your home. That being said, I understand the need for the landscape design to be in keeping with your home's architecture, your tastes and living style and also your family’s needs, desires and budget. I believe good design takes all this into consideration and works with the land in its natural state. Your landscape should be a both a beautiful sanctuary as well as a functional place for you, your family and your friends.
I am involved in the design/build process from initial client meetings to plan conceptualization through the design project’s installation and final completion. We strive for seamless steps from beginning a design’s concept, to the landscape’s full master plan, then all the way to the project close. I give my clients creative, innovative and sound landscape designs and quality plant installation. We oversee the contractors we work with to make sure their hardscapes, architectural features, pools and water features and lighting, are masterfully installed as well.
